Since the first Divine Word Missionary arrived in the United States in 1895, the congregation’s reach in North America has flourished.
SVD schools and seminaries popped up from coast to coast and beyond as the missionary congregation spread. For more than a century, the Society of the Divine Word has been helping students in North America develop strong, spiritual foundations that last a lifetime. While some of those institutions are no longer in operation, each one is an important part of the SVD history.
